About LayerSay
What it is. LayerSay is a photo editor you drive by describing the edit. An AI turns your words into editing steps, and each step becomes a layer you can adjust, hide or undo. The editing engine runs in your browser, so regular edits never upload your photo (privacy).
Who makes it. LayerSay is an independent project. We design, build and test the editor, the AI planner and the looks ourselves, and we write the guides on this site.
Our relationship to PhotoCraft. The engine is PhotoCraft, an open-source editor by the ArtCraft team, which we use under its MIT/Apache-2.0 license. LayerSay Studio is our modified build of the PhotoCraft editor with an AI assistant added. We are not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by the ArtCraft team, the PhotoCraft contributors or Adobe. Because our product depends on PhotoCraft, we have an interest in it doing well; our PhotoCraft pages say so where it matters.
Who writes the guides
Soluto builds LayerSay and LayerSay Studio — the AI planner, the in-browser engine integration and the Studio editor build — and writes our PhotoCraft guides and reviews. Everything in them comes from working with PhotoCraft’s engine and editor day to day while building this product.
How we write guides and reviews
We test before we write. Tutorials and reviews are based on our own use of the software, on the version named on the page. Screenshots are taken from real sessions, and every timing comes from our own benchmark runs, described on the page with the machine and date.
We separate our findings from other people’s. Anything we didn’t test ourselves — a developer’s own roadmap figures, for example — is attributed and linked in the page’s sources.
We keep pages current honestly. When a new version changes what we wrote, we re-test and update the page and its “Updated” date. We don’t change the date without changing the content.
We use AI tools, and check them. AI helps us draft and edit text. A person on our team checks every claim against our tests or the cited source before it is published.
No paid placements. Nobody pays us to review or mention their software.
